AC#5: DevQuizznator

March 12th, 2010

Roue du nerfThe DevQuizz is back! This ever-popular game takes place at each Ankama Convention and sees 5 players face off against 5 DOFUS developers (including the mighty Lichen) to answer questions (in French) about all things DOFUS.

If the players win a round, they win prizes. However, if they lose a round, the Devs will spin the dreaded Wheel of Nerf to see which class will be “balanced” in the next update!

This year, all spectators present at the Main Stage can attend the DevQuizznator for a chance to qualify for the DevQuizz! A giant quiz will be organised for teams, with each wrong answer immediately eliminating the whole team. The last remaining team will be invited up on stage to answer some more knockout questions, until there are only 5 participants remaining...

Head over to the Main Stage at Ankama Convention #5, it’s time for your training to begin!

The Friday Game: One Button Games

Whether you think that videogames should be emulating cinema or music, sport or even the mindless pleasures of card tricks – and whether you think that such comparisons are largely pointless – a big part of their defining appeal will always be this: finding out what happens when you press a button.

GDC: Sakamoto From Metroid To WarioWare

Speaking at GDC, Nintendo’s Yoshio Sakamoto downplayed his legacy—which includes the Metroid and WarioWare series—by claiming that as few of the titles he has developed have seen a release outside of Japan, he could be considered a “niche” game developer. And, he said, in Japan the Metroid titles are also considered niche, so “perhaps rather than having global appeal, I really am a developer who can only make niche games.”
