Lineage 2: Double XP & Drops Week Announced

Continuing the anniversary celebration, NCSoft and Lineage II devs have announced that June 8-15, 2011 is not only a double XP week but that drops will significantly increase as well. Developers are encouraging players to level up to be able to experience the high-level content that the Goddess of Destruction update will bring.

EverQuest II: The Children of War Goes Live

Sony Online Entertainment has announced that Everquest 2 Update 60: The Children of War is now live on all servers. Update 60 brings several key PvP improvements including a new lobby system, a new map, a new PvP battle type and more. Also added are some raids and heroic dungeons.

In the unlikely event of today's consoles still driving the game industry in 2015, their reign will have endured for almost a decade - an unprecedented period of suspended animation for dominant videogame hardware. With the PC marching stubbornly on and handheld devices fast catching up, it's the licensed engine that's evolved the most. Games light enough to run on Xbox 360, flexible enough to port promptly to PS3, scalable enough to satisfy PC, and adaptable enough to spawn phone and tablet tie-ins cannot, by and large, afford to solve that conundrum from scratch.
