The First 2.0 Migration

March 3rd, 2010

ManyHardly a day has gone by when some intrepid DOFUS player hasn't asked "When will Ankama start moving 1.29 servers to DOFUS 2.0?" Today, we will answer that question!

As we've explained on the forum and on the devblog, we are taking deliberate steps to make sure this migration isn't done too hastily, so that DOFUS 2.0 can be fully operational before all DOFUS players migrate to this version.

The 2.0.1 update has resolved many performance problems; we can continue to move forward to achieve our future objectives. In fact, we believe that version 2.0 (while not yet totally bug-free) is ready to welcome all DOFUS players.

So, as BillFR announced in his interview in Inside Ankama #2, we have set a date for the first server migration: on March 9th, 2010, the server known as Many will be the first guinea pig, err, bold adventurer to step from 1.29 into 2.0.

After this first migration, we want to proceed carefully and take whatever time is necessary to remove any unforseen problems. We will take two weeks after this migration to ensure that the server is functioning properly. If all goes well, the migration of other servers will proceed in gradual steps.

Our goal is to move all of the servers to DOFUS 2.0 before ANKAMA CONVENTION #5, we hope to see you all there!
