Heavy Rain Movie Rights Picked Up In 2006

New Line Productions had already secured the rights to make a movie adaptation of Quantic Dream's Heavy Rain as early as 2006.
The option was filed with the US Copyright Office only a week after the game's E3 2006 announcement. The option was then renewed in 2007 in a deal between the Lord of the Rings film studio and Quantic Dream's David de Gruttola.
