UK Games Market Tops £3 Billion In 2009

The UK videogames industry generated £3.311 billion in sales during 2009, making it the second-strongest year on record.
Software sales hit £1.621 billion as consumers snapped up a total of 74.6 million games, according to GfK Chart-Track figures released by ELSPA (Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association). More games were sold for Wii – 18 million - than any other platform, but Xbox 360 titles generated the most revenue, bringing in £459 million.
