Japanese Games Market Shrunk 6.9 Per Cent In 2009

Famitsu publisher Enterbrain reports that the Japanese games market generated ¥542,640 million in 2009, down 6.9 per cent year-over-year.

Hardware sales declined 13.6 per cent to ¥216,490 million, while software sales were down 1.8 per cent to ¥326,160 million, according to the report (via Andriasang).
