Carl Icahn has grown his stake in publisher Take-Two after buying over a million new shares. He is now a 12.3 per cent stakeholder in the GTA and BioShock publisher.

Valve has reported a major increases in accounts, concurrent players and unit sales for its digital delivery service, Steam.
During 2009 the platform surpassed 25 million active accounts, which is up 25 per cent on the previous year, says Valve. Of the 25 million accounts, over ten million have profiles in the Steam Community.
According to the Half-Life creator, unit sales for 2009 increased by more than 205 per cent, marking the fifth straight year the platform has realized over 100 per cent year-over-year growth in unit sales.

Electronic Arts has announced the development of a free, downloadable FIFA Online title that will make the series available to users with a broadband internet connection and an average spec laptop computer or desk-top PC.
The free-to-play game will enter a closed beta testing prior to its English language European open beta release in June 2010.

EA and BioWare have announced that the sci-fi sequel, Mass Effect 2, has sold over two million copies worldwide in its first week of going on sale.
