Kung Foo! PR Manager Jason Varden has put together a new guide on how to "crash the Kung Foo! closed beta," which has been posted on the official Perfect World Entertainment blog. The most basic way to score a closed beta invite is to simply sign up for the game's newsletter and follow Kung Foo! on Twitter. However, if you want to guarantee yourself a closed beta key, Perfect World Entertainment is challenging gamers to post the best Kung Foo! puns using the #FOO tag on Twitter.

Report: UK Games Industry Outsells Film In 2009

In the UK 2009 saw more money spent on games than movies (including trips to the cinema and on DVD film releases) reports The Daily Telegraph.

The paper calls its research the “clearest evidence yet that the video games market has come of age and transformed itself from a niche form of entertainment for teenage boys into a mainstream form of entertainment for millions of British families.”

Star Trek Online: Name That Starship Class Contest

Cryptic Studios has announced a new contest for Star Trek Online dubbed the "Name That Starship Contest." In the contest, players will get a chance to name one of three never-before-seen starship classes to be featured in Star Trek Online as Tier 5 ships. Players will be provided a submission form and images of the ships and simply need to come up with a suitable name for the designs.
